Law of Attraction: Stop Worrying About the How

Law of Attraction: Stop Worrying About the How

You believe in the Law of Attraction. After all, people like Brian Tracy, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, and Jim Carrey have used the Law of Attraction to effect their dreams. You diligently practice gratitude, affirmations, visualizations, and absolute faith; yet, somehow you’re still waiting for your ship to sail in. One question you might start asking yourself is, “Are you focused on how you are going to achieve your dreams?”

If you are, you need to stop doing this today. The only things you should focus on are the what, who, where, when, and why. Leave the how to the Universe. Your job is to manifest your dreams and destiny by focusing your vibrational energies towards your goals. Think of it another way, the 5 Ws sum up to form the how. That how could be the most indirect, obscure path you have ever seen. Yet, it still somehow leads you on the right path.

So, focus your energies on the who, the what, the why, the when, and the where. Take out a sheet of paper and ask yourself these questions:

  • What is my dream?
  • Why do I want it?
  • When should it happen?
  • Who is with me in this dream?
  • Where will I be when this dream comes true?

Write down in the greatest detail possible your dream having already come true. Go back again and again, asking yourself the 5 Ws differently each time. This time around, you might be asking these questions:

  • What am I doing to feel this way?
  • Why do I feel this way?
  • When do I feel this way?
  • Who is with me when I feel this way?
  • Where am I when I feel this way?

For instance, your dream may be to own a house with an ocean view (I know I do!). As you write, include as many details as possible about when this is; what you are feeling, smelling, touching, doing, seeing, and hearing; who you are with; why you are feeling this way at this particular moment; and finally where you are that leads to all these emotions. Always be asking yourself the 5 Ws as you progress along in your dream.

If having a house with an ocean view sounds too grand, and you are still working on just believing the Law of Attraction, how about starting off with something much simpler, like imagining an available parking spot just as you get into work? What were you doing when you see this spot? Probably just getting to where you were going. Where is the spot? Probably close-by to where you want to go. When do you see this open spot? Perhaps the guy was just leaving. Who is with you? Carry it on further. What do you feel when you see that spot is indeed free or even as someone is about to leave? Joy and gratitude. Where do you see it when you start to feel happy that you have a spot where you want it? Perhaps just as you turned the corner to see an open spot waiting for you. Why do you feel this way? Gratitude.

As you can see, you can go over and over the 5 Ws to hold the vision of what you want in your mind in order to start manifesting its existence.

Just Another Form of Visualization

Also, you might have surmised by now you are actually writing into what I call your dream journal. In this journal, you write about things as if they already took place. You fulfilled your vision and now you are reflecting upon the moments of pleasure and joy during the quiet moments of the day. Like any good self-improvement student, you reflect and contemplate what actions and factors lead you to that point. Doing this exercise helps you to start feeling inspired and to start taking inspired action. It is also a form of visualization with the all-important component of emotions added into the mix. I do this at least 3 times a week.

In Short

Again, we will always have the temptation to try to figure out the how. When we force something to happen by worrying about the how, we fail to be outcome-independent. Failing to be outcome independent, we fail to live in abundance. Failing to live in abundance in turn leads to scarcity, which causes us to stop taking chances. This leads to stagnation and inactivity.

Your job is to ask the Universe, to hold onto that vision, to manifest it in your mind with the good feelings associated with it, and to have absolute faith that it will happen. In time, when you start to vibrate at the same frequency as the Universe you will find good things starting to happen.
