  • Start making a gratitude list. Think of all the things you ought to be grateful for—good health, family, friends, the food on your table, your job, your house, a hot cup of tea on a cold day, even the M&Ms you snacked on just before leaving work at the end of the day.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and keep negative thoughts at bay. It’s better to avoid them completely than to be drug down a dark alley. Stay away from negative people, as they are draining.

  • Enjoy the little things. We often fret and stress over the big things or things that are beyond our power to change. What good does worrying about it do but give us stress and make us sick? One of the little things you can start doing right now is to make a gratitude list.
  • Exercise at least three times a week. Hardly a surprise here. Exercise releases endorphins, the feel-good chemical. Exercise also helps us cope with stress easier.Eat well. Your body is a temple so treat it like one. Being in good health will help you feel better, live longer, and happier.
  • Spend quality time with your loved ones. Hug and kiss them at least once a day. Set boundaries for work, for it can always wait, despite what our bosses and project leads want us to believe. After all, you work to live, not live to work.
  • Make more “me time” for yourself. Use this time to relax, meditate, sleep, exercise, and reflect upon the day’s events. Pamper yourself once in a while with the things you enjoy and love.
  • Stop blaming the past and other people. Start taking the initiative to attract the things you want in your life and conduct inspired action to making your dreams a reality.Visualize your goals and the emotions you want to feel from having those goals realized. The associative emotions are important here, for it is the emotions that drive you to take meaningful action towards achieving your goals.
  • Start a journal. Record your thoughts daily. Journaling is a therapeutic activity in and of itself, for it is through writing that we organize our thoughts and put into coherent words what it is that is bugging us. In those same pages lay the answer as well. It may take several days, weeks, months, or even years but the answer will eventually come to you.Think you have to write a page or more each time you make an entry? Think again.
